If you are struggling with debt problems in Phoenix or elsewhere in Arizona, you have probably heard or read ads by debt settlement companies. These companies make promising claims that they will work with your creditors to settle your debts for far less than you owe. While some of these companies are reputable, many are not. Some, in fact, are being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission. We urge you to use caution before giving your money to a debt settlement company. You could end up in worse financial shape than when you started.
At the Arizona Law Group of Trezza & Associates, LLC, we offer true debt relief by helping our clients through the bankruptcy process. We can help you explore all of your debt relief options so you can make informed decisions about your financial future.

The Problems With Debt Settlement Companies
There are a number of reasons hiring a debt settlement company may not be in your best interests. Many people facing debt problems have been drawn to debt settlement companies and regretted it for the following reasons:
- Debt settlement is too expensive: Even if you are hiring a reputable debt settlement company, the fees you have to pay the company may not be worth whatever debt relief you see.
- Creditor actions continue: After paying a hefty fee to the debt settlement company, you will likely find that your creditors are still harassing you and taking legal action against you like wage garnishment and repossession. Debt settlement doesn't legally bar your creditors from taking action against you. The automatic stay of bankruptcy, however, does.
Our firm does not offer debt settlement services because we don't believe they offer our clients value. We do, however, represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Our attorneys are here to help you explore all of the debt relief options available to you.
