What It Means to File Chapter 13
In Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you pay back a portion of what you owe through a debt payment plan that is based on your income and your situation.
Right now, your creditors are in control, dictating the repayment terms for your debts. Chapter 13 puts your creditor under the restrictions imposed by the bankruptcy code. Under the payment plan, you will repay a portion of your debts over the course of three to five years. Some debts may be paid off at 100 percent, others, much less. Remaining unsecured debt will be discharged upon completion of the plan. We work with you to create a plan that suits your needs.
